Introducing Hannah…
I first met Hannah through our Informal Research Group, in Semester 1 of 2025.
She’s been an asset to FlyOnTheWall helping develop resources and strengthen perspectives of those with neurodivergent conditions. -Marina Elisara
My name is Hannah. As a (late-diagnosed) AuDHD woman, raising Neurodivergent children (combinations of ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, APD) I am deeply passionate about accessibility of knowledge, support and advocacy.
I have experienced first-hand the trauma of misdiagnosis, and the transformative power of re-framing experience after diagnosis. I wholeheartedly believe that diagnosis, and the insight and supports it offers, are crucial for wellbeing. As the mother of bi-cultural tamariki, and the mother of a takatāpui young person, I am committed to listening, learning and working alongside these communities.
After completing my BSocSci (Psychology & Sociology) as a young single mother I entered the workforce at the Ministry of Social Development, after several other roles and gaining a Diploma in Health Science (Naturopathy), now in my mid 30s I have decided to enter back into postgraduate study.
Currently completing my PgDipArts (Psychology) at Massey, I will be begin my masters thesis in 2026 titled ‘Motherhood and Neurodiversity: Exploring the Role of Diagnosis and Knowledge in Shaping the Experiences of Mothers with ADHD and ASD’.
As a student and future practicing psychologist I will advocate for more accessible, holistic, equitable, culturally responsive, and neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic and support systems.
