    FOUNDER

Starting with aiming to meet the neurodivergent mental health needs of students, FlyOnTheWall has been a wonderful way to meet the unique needs of students. Though many hours have been invested into the presentations, I love being able to provide a safe space for people to let their interests be valued by others.

When I am not working with FlyOnTheWall, I am often at my office seeing clients in a capacity of a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, also known as ‘The Hummingbird”. Life is also busy with raising a family. This particular combination makes it harder to further my education, (one day I will get to that master’s degree).

OurInformal Research Group was initiated to meet business needs of evidence based academic publications to keep up to date with my practice. And this is how Hannah and David came on board in 2025 as facilitators. We have shared interest in learning and developing relevant workshops that expand people’s understanding of neurodiversity.

  • David Lamond

    RESEARCHER AND FACILITATOR

David has been a keen supporter of FlyOnTheWall since we first started in 2024. One of the things he enjoys the most is the weekly meetings is being able to meet face to face and just be with like minded people.

True to form, David’s neurodivergent mind has lead him to have an ecclectic range of experiences and qualifications. For example David is a qualified adventure instructor, has service in the military, has two degrees and is now currently studying psychology and occupational therapy.

A lover of knowledge, David has many perspectives to speak from and brings a great depth of understanding and lived experience to inform how we serve neurodivergent communities.

  • Hannah Cleaver-Marshall

    RESEARCHER AND FACILITATOR

When Hannah is not studying to complete her Masters in Psychology, she is busy being mum to her children who she treasures.

Hannah carries a wealth of experience from many different areas of life and has a keen interest in understanding the needs of neurodivergent mums in the perinatal period of life.

For Hannah, the world made more sense after been diagnosed late in life with ADHD and autism. Everyone’s experience of living with neurodivergent conditions is different which is why Hannah’s view, like David’s is highly valuable.

Hannah is also a talented writer which has been significant to the development of FlyOnTheWall in 2025.

A Metaphor

Fly On The Wall - it’s a matter of perspective.
A metaphor for the many different experiences in a neurodiverse world.

Fly On The Wall
Some just watch the world pass by,
Some are annoyed at any fly at all,
Some marvel at the pattern of their wings
And some do not notice things so small

But whether or not anyone sees
Does not dismiss the fact that they are there
Serving the world in their way,
Or resting on a wall, taking a break from the air

So, if a wall shows us an aerial creation
We may begin to ponder on the earth’s collective
Observing details of ourselves in light of this fly
Leading us to see it’s value is a matter of perspective.
